ROLE PURPOSE 

The role is responsible for overseeing the sourcing and procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-efficient acquisition of products and services. This role includes identifying and selecting vendors, negotiating contracts terms, managing vendors relationships, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the procurement process. The role also involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize operations and align procurement efforts with the organization’s strategic objectives. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement needs, specifications, and business requirements. 

  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with internal SOPs, policies, and organizational standards, while maintaining consistency and compliance throughout the process. 

  • Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Call for Tender (CFTs), ensuring all documentation aligns with business requirements. 

  • Identify, assess, and build relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply. 

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, sourcing and negotiation with vendor relationship management. 

  • Conduct market research to identify new procurement opportunities, cost-saving strategies and ensure value-driven procurement decisions. 

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, monitor vendor performance, ensure contract compliance, and generate data-driven reports to support decision-making and optimize procurement costs. 

  • Identify procurement-related issues and suggest solutions for resolution with vendors. 

  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and operational excellence. 

  • Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Department and line manager, ensuring successful execution and alignment with broader department goals.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED  

Knowledge & Skills

Essential  

  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, negotiation skills and vendor management. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to foster productive working relationships and facilitate cross-functional collaboration. 

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and effectively resolving procurement challenges. 

  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software. 

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience in guiding and mentoring junior staff, fostering a culture of growth, development, and operational excellence. 

  • Certification in procurement or related fields is an advantage. 

Education & Special Training

Essential  

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field..

Experience

Essential   

  • Proven experience in procurement, with a minimum of [3] years. 

Languages 

Essential   

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both Myanmar and English, with fluency in written and spoken communication.
